Pertamina Showcases Top Indonesian Tourism & MSMEs at DMI 2024 in the Netherlands

PT Pertamina (Persero) once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting Indonesia on the global stage by participating in the prestigious “Discovering The Magnificence of Indonesia” Tourism & Trade Expo in Utrecht, Netherlands. The event served as a strategic platform to highlight Indonesia’s rich tourism potential and promote leading MSME (UMKM) products developed under Pertamina’s community programs.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), emphasized that this participation reflects the company’s real support for empowering MSMEs and promoting Indonesia’s creative economy and tourism globally. “We aim to show the world that Indonesia is not only rich in energy but also holds tremendous potential in the creative and tourism sectors,” said Fadjar.

At the expo, Pertamina featured over 200 high-quality, globally competitive products from 21 selected MSMEs across Indonesia, ranging from locally inspired handicrafts and culinary delights to eco-friendly beauty products. Featured MSMEs included Joglo Ayu Tenan, Sekar Mukti, Toko Ida Utama, Situbondo Shell Craft, fashion brands like Kainnesia and Narita Shibori, as well as food producers such as Fish Snack, Rendang Erika, Alzavera, DD Satoe, and Bali Honey.

Pertamina also showcased community-based tourism destinations supported through its CSR programs, including Balkondes Wringin Putih and Karangrejo in Magelang, a mangrove conservation village in Cilacap, and the energy-focused Shuji Village in Muara Enim. A highlight was the pineapple fiber fashion showcase from Subang — a sustainable innovation turning agricultural waste into high-aesthetic textile creations.

Fadjar noted that Pertamina’s booth attracted significant attention due to its unique integration of energy, culture, and innovation. “We also used this platform to communicate our CSR initiatives, which emphasize local empowerment and illustrate how the synergy between energy, tourism, and community development can generate real economic impact,” he added.

The event was attended by Indonesia’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Drs. Mayerfas, embassy representatives, international buyers, Dutch citizens, and the Indonesian diaspora in Europe.

Fadjar expressed hope that Pertamina’s participation in overseas events like this would open doors to new investment and cooperation opportunities, promote Indonesia’s tourism and cultural richness, and expand international market access for MSME products.

Pertamina’s CSR efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), while also supporting the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework. As a leading player in the energy transition, Pertamina remains committed to achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060 through inclusive and sustainable programs.
